A home to all of us.
Enough room, enough resources. For all of us.
Yet, there are many challenges.
But we have a plan!
Global leaders gathered at the United Nations General Assembly to sign a new development agenda, pledging to eliminate those challenges by 2030.
The plan for a better world builds on Sustainable Development Goals.
A vision of the world until 2030, jointly created by the people and 193 UN member states, foresees a different, better world.
A world without poverty.
A world without inequality.
A world with access to education for all.
A world with access to efficient health care for all.
A world in which the climate is stable.
The success of such a plan depends on all of us.
If we can use food, water, energy and all other resources rationally, we will be able to protect our planet that is home to all of us.
If we treat each other with dignity and ensure respect for human rights, this will bring enormous change in the lives of people. We are going to build a better and a more equal world.
If we work together, we will achieve more.
Only if we turn development into sustainable development will we succeed in transforming the world.
A world in which there is a balance between needs and opportunities.
A vision of such a world involves 17 sustainable development goals.
But it is not enough to just set goals.
In order to achieve them, we need to ensure: support, application and the monitoring of their implementation.
We all need to contribute. We need new ideas, new practices and innovation. Everything that will bring about a positive change.
Everything that will help us achieve our joint plan to make the planet a better place for living by 2030.
